Changing Altitude Raising Funds Lifting Hope
ELEVATION 2009 was a one day fund raising and awareness event to support those who suffer with Lupus - specifically Systemic Lupus Erythematosus.
The first mountain-climb-for-a-cure for lupus - ELEVATION was a challenging nine mile round trip hike to the summit of highest point in Colorado - Mt. Elbert.
This event took place Sunday August 9th 2009 and opened at 6am at the Mt. Elbert trailhead near Leadville Colorado.
All proceeds of this event benefit the Lupus Foundation of America.
Your host is Michael Carstens in partnership with the LPA. Michael started this event this year after discovering that his wife has lupus. His goal is to be supported by generous people as he climbs Elbert to help fund new forms of treatment and medication development.
- Though the climb has passed, donations for LFA are always welcome click here
